Sonita, a documentary by an Iranian film director, Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami, about a young Afghan female rapper, won the AVAST Foundation Audience Award at One World in Prague. Like other films that became favourites of the audience, Sonita will travel to other towns all over the Czech Republic. In Prague, the last, additional, screening of Sonita will be held today at 5 p.m. in the large hall of the Světozor cinema. 

Strasbourg, 15.03.2016 - At its 142nd meetingheld from 8 to 11 March 2016 in Tirana, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support 13 fiction, and 3 documentary feature film projects for a total amount of 4 485 494Euros.

STRASBOURG: The Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support 13 feature films and three documentaries includings six projects from Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovenia, Georgia and Austria. The total amount is 4,485,494 EUR.

SOFIA: For the sixth year in a row, Europa Distribution is hosting a distribution workshop within the Sofia Meetings of the Sofia International Film Festival on 17-20 March 2016.

PRAGUE: A Syrian Love Story by the British director Sean McAllister won Best Film at the 18th One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. The Estonian documentary Out of Fashion by Jaak Kilmi and Lennart Laberenz received the Student Jury Award. The closing ceremony will take place on 16 March 2016.

TBILISI: German Public Broadcaster 3sat has acquired TV rights for the Georgian/German documentary When the Earth Seems to Be Light by Salome Machaidze, Tamuna Karumidze and David Meskhi.

The juries of the 18th annual One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, whose theme this year was LOOKING FOR HOME, granted six awards. The awards will be presented at the festival closing ceremony in the Lucerna Cinema in Prague on Wednesday, 16 March.

For the sixth year in a row, Europa Distribution is hosting a distribution workshop in the scope of the Sofia Meetings of the Sofia International Film Festival. About 20 independent distributors members of the network will participate to this workshop and the Sofia Meetings activities.

Writer / director Bartek Konopka (Poland) won the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award at the 2012-2013 edition of ScripTeast with the script The Mute written together with Przemysłav Nowakowski.
