Agnieszka Holland's Charlatan (Czech Republic, Slovakia) and Quo Vadis, Aida? (Bosnia and Herzegovina) by Jasmila Zbanic were also shortlisted in the International Feature Film category. Latvian Blizzard of Souls by Dzintars Dreibergs has been shortlisted in the Music (Original scores) category.

BELGRADE: The historical drama Dara in Jasenovac / Dara iz Jasenovca directed by Predrag Antonijević is Serbia's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. This is the first feature film dealing with the extermination camp of Jasenovac, known as the Balkan's Auschwitz, during the WWII.

BUDAPEST: Lili Horvát’s sophomore feature Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time / Felkészülés meghatározatlan ideig tartó együttlétre is Hungary's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category.

RIGA: The historical drama Blizzard of Souls / Dvēseļu putenis directed by Dzintars Dreibergs is Latvia's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category.

VILNIUS: The historical drama Nova Lituania, the debut feature by Karolis Kaupinis, is Lithuania's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category.

SKOPJE: Academy Award nominee Milcho Manchevski’s Willow / Vrba is the candidate of North Macedonia for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. Manchevski’s sixth feature film was shot in North Macedonia after an absence of nine years and it is a Macedonian/Hungarian/Albanian/Belgian coproduction.

PODGORICA: The family drama Breasts / Grudi directed by Marija Perović will represent Montenegro at the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences awards in the best international feature film category. The film is a coproduction between Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia.

LJUBLJANA: Gregor Božič’s debut feature Stories From the Chestnut Woods / Zgodbe iz kostanjevih gozdov is Slovenia's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. The nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards will be announced on 15 March 2021 and the ceremony is scheduled for 25 April 2021.

TALLINN: The Last Ones / Viimane, an Estonian/Finnish/Dutch coproduction directed by Veiko Õunpuu, has been selected as Estonia's candidate for the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences award in the best international feature film category. The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 25 April 2021.
