Three mini film festivals are playing in Bulgaria this week, with Czech and Nordic films featured in Sofia and a week of Moroccan cinema in Varna.

FamuFilmFest is a project of the Czech Cultural center and the Film and TV School FAMU and will feature films by past and present FAMU students such as Jan Nemec, Jiri Menzel and Emir Kusturica. Films will be screened from today through Wednesday.

The Days of Nordic Cinema, which runs April 17-24, is organized by the association Sedem in partnership with the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

The showings will include The Bothersome Man by Jens Lien, Just Bea by Petter Næss, Frozen Land by Aku Louhimies, You, the Living by Roy Andersson, Marie Nyreröd's documentary on Ingmar Bergman and Fårö, and 1:1 by Annette K Olesen.

In Varna, the Moroccan embassy is sponsoring a Week of Moroccan Cinema that begins on April 18. Among titles to be shown are The Children of Eternity by Pouran Derakhshandeh (2006), So Close, So Far (2005) by Seyyed Reza Mir-Karimi and The Night Bus (2007) by Kiomars Pourahmad
