Ondrej Zach has been named HBO Central Europe vice president of Programming and Acquisitions, based in HBO's Prague offices.

In addition to his promotion, Zach will stay on as executive director of HBO for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Zach will oversee all HBO channels in 11 Central Europe territories. HBO Central Europe broadcasts in Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. Channels include HBO, HBO2, HBO Comedy, Cinemaxx, and Cinemaxx 2. HBO has been operating in Central Europe since 1991.

Zach began his career in acquisitions at TV Nova, before moving to Prague acquisitions firm AQS.
