14 July 2009 By FNE Staff

PRIMEPACKAGING 2009, the European training initiative for independent film and TV producers has terminated the first center effectually on July 12th in Berlin.

PRIMEHOUSE GmbH, Berlin, host of the producer program since 2006, has selected seven projects from six countries for participation in 2009.

For the first time, projects from Lithuania, Fling a Stone, David (resistance drama, producer: Rasa Miskinyte / ERA Film) and Cyprus, Where Aphrodite was born (children movie, producer: Marios Piperides / AMP Film Works & Seahorse Film Productions) take part in PRIMEPACKAGING. From Poland even two projects participate: Musicschool Chick (animation, producer: Andrzej Wojnach / Skiba Arts) and Raiders: The Raven and the Cross (adventure film, producer: Slawomir Ciok / Icebreaker Films). Belgium is present with The Dolphin Boy, (children movie, producer: Frédéric Chanteux / NewArts Productions) and Germany with 90 Minuten (drama, producer: Anna Wendt / Anna Wendt Filmproduktion), Great Britain is represented by Obsessive Compulsive (dark comedy, producer: Ben Pullen / Sentinel Entertainment).

Among the experts for PRIMEPACKAGING 2009 were - next to the renowned script consultants Phil Parker („Wallace and Gromit") and Cornelia Hermann - Thorsten Ritter, Head of Bavaria Film International, for the sales aspects as well as Michael Gens, Commerzbank, and Kai May, Unverzagt von Have, for financing. Christoph Ott (nfp marketing & distribution*, Berlin) took part in the workshop as expert for distribution and Uwe Beneke, Yager Development was representing the games field. „The view on the modern spectrum of interactive formats can lead to valuable insights concerning the development of the projects. On the same time, the open and inspiring exchange in this constructive forum offers a great benefit for games development", Uwe Beneke states.

To date, PRIMEPACKAGING is the only European training program which - next to the consultation of script development, market analysis, financing, distribution and world sales - includes support for the games and interactive media part in the packaging of film and TV projects. During the decisive and early project development phase the market chances of each project is analyzed from different perspectives and potential for further development is evaluated. The following two centers of PrimepackAGing 2009 take place in Vienna (14th - 18th of October) and Warsaw (11th - 13th of December). Grazyna Torbicka
FNE Ambassador for Poland

"For me its very very useful, I receive and read it every day. It is very useful to know what's going on in the region and it was previously an undiscovered area. FNE is doing a very good job. FNE informs us about not only film but also TV and production. Very often I am using some subjects from FNE in my TV programme"
