Projects to the 3rd edition of ScripTeast have been selected!
12 September 2008 By ScripTeast press service
It was a tough decision since all of the projects applying to the 3rd edition of ScripTeast represent high quality and though-provoking subjects. The organizers of the program received the record number of scripts, coming from all of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and would like to thank all the writers for their interest in ScripTeast.

The following projects have been selected to participate in the workshops:

  1. AZC by Ileana Stanculescu and Artchil Khetagouri (Romania)
  2. Bella Luna by Ivan Fila (Czech Republic)
  3. Cahiers du Cinema/ Edition Lietuva by Saulius Drunga (Lithuania)
  4. Collapse by Andrzej Golda (Poland)
  5. A Friend of Mine by Mart Kivastik (Estonia)
  6. I Married Al-Kaida by Andrej Kosak (Slovenia)
  7. Japanese Dog by Ioan Antoci (Romania)
  8. Lenin's Curse by Maria Graczyk (Poland)
  9. Night Boats by Elvis Bosnjak and Igor Mirkovic (Croatia)
  10. Retrace by Judit Elek and Laszlo Berger (Hungary)
  11. Security by Daniel Erdelyi (Hungary)
  12. Words by Izabela Szylko (Poland)

We are pleased to have participants from Croatia, that joined the group of eligible countries only this year, Czech Republic and Lithuania, as the countries haven't had representation in ScripTeast so far.

The 3rd edition of  ScripTeast will be inaugurated with a weeklong Lab in Poland on the 29th of September. During the session  the authors will have individual meetings with Creative Advisors and Heads of Studies, there are also film screenings and case studies scheduled in the program. The work will be continued online until the next meeting in February, at Berlin Film Festival.

ScripTeast is organized by the Independent Film Foundation and supported by Media Programme, Polish Film Institute, Polish Television (TVP) and Apple Film Production, with partnership of European Film Academy, Ateliers du Cinéma Européen, Producers Network, e-Talenta, Final Draft and festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Karlovy Vary.

Grazyna Torbicka
FNE Ambassador for Poland

"For me its very very useful, I receive and read it every day. It is very useful to know what's going on in the region and it was previously an undiscovered area. FNE is doing a very good job. FNE informs us about not only film but also TV and production. Very often I am using some subjects from FNE in my TV programme"
