Magic Tree is a family film by Andrzej Maleszka, loosely based on a TV series made by the director between 2003 and 2006.
Paramount and Walt Disney studios were said to be competing for distribution rights. "Great distributors were interested in the film, but I cannot reveal their names," said Maleszka. The producers are Lunapark (www.lunapark.pl) and TVP ( www.tvp.pl). The budget was over PLN 8 million. PLN 2 million was received from the Polish Film Institute ( www.pisf.pl). The film will be shown on September 18, distributed in Poland Forum Films. A book on the adventures of the three young heroes is scheduled for release at the same time. The Magic Tree score was composed by leading Polish composers, Krzesimir Dębski. The roles of the parents were played by Agnieszka Grochowska (2007 Shooting Stars) and Andrzej Chyra. The shooting took place in August and November 2007 in the Kaszuby region, in Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Gdynia and Warsaw.

The parents of Kuki, Tosia and Filip are fully focused on work. Their unhappy children want to change the situation, and a chair made of a magic tree will help them do that. A seven-episode cycle won the prestigious Emmy award in 2007 in the "Children and Young People" category, as well as awards at the festivals in Munich, Cairo, Bratislava and Montevideo.
