SUBMISSION OF FILMS FOR THE 52ND KRAKOW FILM FESTIVAL OPEN TILL 10TH FEBRUARY
19 January 2012 By Michal Klimkiewicz
The 10th February has been announced to be the deadline for submitting films to the selection of the 52th Krakow Film Festival. This year it will take place between 28th May and 3rd June. The above mentioned deadline applies to films made after August 31st 2011. Films which were made before that date were due for submission until November 30th 2011.

Krakow Film Festival presents documentary, feature and animated films in three competitions:
national competition open to films made in Poland with a running time of:

·      documentary films – up to 60 minutes ,

·      documentary films – over 60 minutes,

·      animated films – up to 30 minutes

·      feature films – up to 30 minutes;
international short film competition open to documentary, animated and feature films with a running time up to 30 minutes;
international documentary film competition open to documentaries with a running time of:

·      30 to 60 minutes – medium-length documentaries,

·      more than 60 minutes – feature-length documentaries.

The requirement of a Polish premiere applies only to submissions for the international documentary competition. In the case of other competition, i.e. the Polish and the international short films competition, it is not required. Nevertheless, preference in selection is given to the films that have not been released in Polish cinemas or screened at any festival in Poland before the 52nd Krakow Film Festival.

Polish producers submit their films only to the national competition. The Selection Committee decide about Polish films which will participate in the international competitions.

THE REGULATIONS and FILM ENTRY FORM are available at: www.krakowfilmfestival.pl

Traditionally, the oldest Polish film festival will be accompanied by the Industry Zone with the Krakow Film Market (this time from 29th May till 3rd June), the pitching "Dragon Forum" (between 31st May and 4th June), conferences, seminars and workshops.
