Submissions to Ji.hlava IDFF 2020 are open!

    Based in the Czech city of Jihlava, the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival ranks among the key European documentary film events and is the largest of its kind in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.

    Every year in late October, we present over 250 films in eight competition sections to an audience of over 40,000 spectators and more than 1,000 participating film professionals.

    The 24th edition of the Ji.hlava IDFF will take place on October 27 – November 1, 2020.

    Authors and producers can now submit their documentary, experimental or animation films, various TV formats based on reality, virtual reality projects, documentary and educational computer games, as well as interactive web documentary projects.

    Submission deadlines are the following:

    March 31, 2020 (films released in 2019)
    May 31, 2020 (films completed in 2020 and released by May 31, 2020)
    July 31, 2020 (rough cuts and films that have so far not had a festival world premiere)

    The submission fee is 20 EUR.

    P.S.: Ji.hlava IDFF is among the Academy Award-Qualifying Festivals. The winners of the Opus Bonum, Between the Seas and Short Joy competition sections are eligible for the pre-selection in the respective categories of the Academy Awards®.
