FESTIVALS: CineLink Announces First Part of 2017 Selection

By

SARAJEVO: Seven feature film projects in early development from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Turkey have been selected for Sarajevo Film Festival's CineLink Co-production Market this year.

For the past several years CineLink Co-production Market selection has been divided into two parts. The first part is focused on the first and second feature films and includes preparatory workshops taking place months before the Co-production Market. These workshops, aiming to help young authors fine tune their projects and prepare for the Market, have become a distinguashable feature of CineLink and helped further development of film industry in the region.

The 2017 selection is showing an interesting new trend. Out of five first feature films, three will be directed by directors previously involved in documentary filmmaking (Cat in the Wall, The Hive, Take Me Home) and two can be characterised as hybrids (Desire Lines, Take me Home).

CineLink Industry Days will take place from 12 to 17 August 2017, as part of the Sarajevo Film Festival. Apart from projects which will be selected for the second part of the CineLink Co-Production Market, projects will also be selected for CineLink Work-in-Progress, CineLink Drama, Docu Rough Cut Boutique, True Stories Market and Talents Sarajevo Pack&Pitch.
