SARAJEVO: Croatian project Srbenka by Nebojša Slijepčević won three out of five awards at Docu Rough Cut Boutique, the intensive five-day programme focusing on documentary films from Southeast Europe in production or postproduction, announced its winners on 16 September 2017. The programme took place in the framework of Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days.

Srbenka by Nebojša Slijepčević won the 2,000 EUR HBO Award, the 2,000 EUR the Cat & Docs Award and the Digital Cube Award of 20,000 EUR in postproduction services.

The film follows the development of a theatre play by Oliver Frljić about the killing of 12-years-old Aleksandra Zec, which took place 25 years ago, which turns into a collective psychotherapy for the young actors, who feel as though the war never ended. The film produced by Vanja Jambrović and Tibor Keser through Restart is expected to have its world premiere later in 2017.

Docu Rough Cut Boutique included extensive workshops with experts such as Catherine Le Clef, Head of Cat & Docs World Sales, and Hanka Kastelicová, executive producer from HBO Europe, and also a presentation of the five selected projects from Hungary, Romania and Croatia.
