Bulgaria Celebrates National Cinema Day

    SOFIA: Bulgaria’s National Film Center is organising the celebration of the National Cinema Day on 13 January 2019. The official event will be once again performed in close collaboration with the National Palace of Culture and the Sofia Municipality. Fifteen new feature and documentary films will be screened on 12 and 13 January 2019 in five theatres in Sofia, one in Varna and one in Plovdiv.

    The list includes the national box office toppers Heights by Viktor Bojinov (produced by Serpentine/Dream Factory), Bubblegum by Stanislav Todorov-Rogi (Dynamic Arts), Smart Christmas by Maria Veselinova (Juli Maruli Entertaiment), Omnipresent by Ilian Djevelekov (Miramar film), Away From the Shore by Kostadin Bonev (Trivium Films). The ticket price for all screenings will be reduced to 2.5 EUR.

    In connection with the start of the Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture programme on 12 January 2019, the main town’s theatre Lucky cinema will screen numerous films dedicated to a younger audience free of charge.
