SOFIA: Bulgaria plans a tender for a new digital TV multiplex tender in 2014. The multiples will use frequencies that are now used by the military.

Bulgaria's previous multiplex tenders, held in 2009, were won by Latvia's Hannu Pro and Slovakian company Towercom. Austrian competitor Oesterrichischer Rundfunksender complained of the earlier processes, and European Commission began an Infringement procedure earlier this year. Local news reports consider the new tender announcement as a way to avoid being fined in a court case.
