Hribar appointed to Croatian AV Center post

    ZAGREB: Hrvoje Hribar has been named Acting Manager of the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (www.havc.hr). The appointment was made by the Board of Governors of the Centre.

    Hribar's appointment was effective 1 September 2010 after Dr.Sc. Nikša Sviličić resigned as Chief Executive Officer.

    The Board of Governors of Croatian Audiovisual Centre was required to announce the vacancy for Chief Executive Officer within 30 days of the appointment of the Acting Manager (1 October 2010). Hribar will remain the Acting Manager until a new CEO is appointed or for a period of no longer than one year. The CEOis appointed to a four-year term.

    The relatively young Centre was established in 2008, following the 2007 passage of a new Croatian audiovisual law. It administers grants to films as well as support for distribution, promotion, exhibition, and training.
