Three Czech Films Land in Top Ten

    PRAGUE: The Czech drama Home Care (Domácí péče) landed in sixth place in the Czech box office on its opening week-end, one of three Czech films holding spots in the top ten for the week-end of 16-19 July 2015, and Helena Trestikova’s award-winning documentary Mallory made an impressive debut in 20th place. 

    Home Care, directed by Slavek Horak and distributed by A-Company Czech Republic, benefitted from a cast that includes popular Czech actors Boleslav Polivka and Tatiana Vilhelmova. The film was produced by Tvorba Films and coproduced by Fog’n’Desire Films, Czech Television and Slovakia’s Sokol Kollar. The film took in 1.44m CZK with 11,026 admissions on 108 screens, narrowly missing the number five spot.

    Mallory took in 20,520 CZK and 175 admissions on one screen. The documentary, which is distributed by Aerofilms, was produced by Negativ and coproduced by Czech Television.
