Czech Film Daughter Wins Student Academy Award

    PRAGUE: The Czech film Daughter directed by Daria Kashcheeva has received the Academy Award in the best animated film from international schools category. Daria Kashcheeva is a student of FAMU - Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

    Daughter was produced by FAMU in coproduction with MAUR Film and with the support of the Czech Film Fund.

    The award ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on 17 October 2019.

    Daria Kashcheeva is the third Czech director to be awarded with the student Oscar, after Jan Svěrák (Oil Gobblers, 1989) and Marie Dvořáková (Who’s Who in Mycology, 2017).
