PRODUCTION: Hrebejk's Innocence films in Prague

    Czech director Jan Hrebejk currently shootinging Innocence, a crime psychdrama written by his longtime collaborator Petr Jarchovsky. Filming, taking place in Prague, will continue through October 10, with a January 20, 2011, release date planned.

    Jan produced by Rudolf Biermann and his Infilm company www.infilm.cz) is shooting again. His newest movie called Innocence based on a story by Petr Jarchovský combines psychodrama and criminal genre.

    The CZK 20 million (800 000 euros) film is a co-production between Slovak producer Rudolf Biermann's company Infilm (www.infilm.cz), Czech producer Tomáš Hoffman's company Infinity (www.infinity.cz), TV Nova (www.nova.cz) and distribution company Bontonfilm (www.bontonfilm.cz). Biermann produced Hřebejk's last film, Kawasaki´s Rose, which premiered at the 2009 Berlinale film festival.

    The story centers on a respected family of doctors, which faces legal accusation against one of its members. The cast is headed by Czech actress and Berlinale Shooting Star Anna Geislerová and Ondřej Vetchý, while 77-year-old Czech actor Luděk Munzar returns to the screen in the role of a family doyen. "His character is very important for the whole storyline," Hřebejk said of Munzar, who suffered a serious disease several years ago which led to his retirement.
