Seven Czech films offered to Argentine distributors

By

Seven Czech films will be screened in Buenos Aires, Argentina, next week and in early April as part of showcase of Czech cinematography organized by Czech Film Center (www.filmcenter.cz) and the Czech Center in the Argentine capital. Besides public screenings, the week-long celebration of contemporary Czech film will feature special screenings for local distributors and other film professionals.

The showcase will open on March 27 with a screening of Little Girl Blue attended by director Alice Nellis, said a statement on March 18 by the Czech Film Center. Screenings will also be held for Empties, Lunacy, Grandhotel, One Night in a City, Wrong Side Up and Skritek through April 2.

"Each movie will be also offered to local distributors because the event is also aimed at supporting sales of Czech films abroad," said Markéta Šantrochová of CFC.

The week-long showcase in Argentina follows Czech film tours in Germany, Austria and Great Britain organized by CFC in recent years. CFC is planning similar showcases in other European countries in connection with the Czech Republic's presidency of the European Union next year.
