By

TALLINN: Bodom, a slasher horror film directed by Taneli Mustonen, was presented at Baltic Events Works In Progress hosted by Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn.

The script for Bodom, written by Mustonen and Aleksi Hyvärinen, was inspired by a real murder spree that took place at Lake Bodom in the 1960’s in Finland. The murders have still not been solved and a group of teenagers decides to investigate. As it turns out, none of them is there to play.

The cast includes  Nelly Hirst-Gee, Mimosa Willamo, Mikael Gabriel and Santeri Mäntylä. Aleksi Hyvärinen is also the producer of the film.

The film is a coproduction between Don Films of Finland and Münchhausen of Estonia. The film was shot between June and November 2015 with a budget pf 1.1 m EUR with support from the Finish Film Foundation and Nordic Boost initiative.

"We have 95% of the financing in place and currently we are looking for a sales agent. We are set to complete the film by the end of 2016," director Taneli Mustonen told FNE.
