FNE at Baltic Event: Latvian/Estonian What Nobody Can See in Production

By

TALLINN: What Nobody Can See, a psychological thriller by Latvian director Stanislavs Tokalovs, was showcased at Baltic Event Works in Progess hosted by the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn.

What Nobody Can See is a story of an unusual relationship between Vicola, a man who has fallen into a coma after experimenting with artificial intelligence, and his care taker Elisa. The leads are played by Katerina Shpitsa and Evgeniy Tkachuk.

"The film is a fusion of sci-fi and drama, but the most important thing is the theme of trust: who can we trust and is trust the most important thing in a relationship," produced Guntis Trekteris of Ego Media told FNE.

The film is a coproduction of Ego Media (Latvia) and Kinoport Film OÜ (Estonia) with a planned budget of 360,000 EUR.

"We've just finished shooting and we are currently looking for financing, coproducers, sales agent and festivals," Trekteris told FNE.

Stanislavs Tokalovs is an experienced Latvian film producer who is moving into directing and screenwriting. He just finished his second short film and is in postproduction with a feature length documentary about the chess champion Mikhail Tal.

The premiere of What Nobody Can See is planned for the second half of 2016.
