TALLINN: The 20th Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), taking place in Tallinn and Tartu from 11 to 27 November 2016, will celebrate the growth of the only FIAPF-accredited (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) competitive non-specialised film festival in Northern Europe.

The 2015 edition saw more than 80,000 admissions, 289 feature films from 80 different countries and more than 700 film professionals attending the festival and industry events.

In 2016, for the first time in the festival’s history, all the films screened in the main competition are world or international premieres. The 2016 edition will have three competition programmes: the International Main Competition, the International First Features and the Estonian Film Competition. The lineup will be announced on 18 October 2016.

Hideo Nakata will be one of the festival's special guests.
