    RIGA: Young Latvian film directors Liene Linde and Armands Začs are currently in production with 36 Months, a documentary following four young women throughout their pregnancy. The project was selected for the Baltic Sea Docs (2-10 Septembre 2017).

    The documentary captures the full cycle of pregnancy as well as the thoughts, fears and feelings of the women during the nine months.

    Guntis Trekteris and Madara Kalniņa are producing through Latvia’s Ego Media. The budget is 54,685 EUR, Madara Kalniņa told FNE. The Culture Capital Foundation of Latvia is supporting.

    Shooting started in July 2017 and it is expected to wrap in the summer of 2018. The theatrical release is set for November 2018.

    Liene Linde was named by the European Film Promotion one of ten most promising young directors from Europe at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in 2017. Her first short film is called Seven Awkward Sex Scenes. Part One.

    Armands Začs has worked on several films as editor and debuted in film directing with the short documentary Denis in 2016.
