FNE at Finale Plzen: To the Sea

PLZEN: Expect intense interest when leading young Czech and international actor Jiří Mádl (Borgia, Four Suns, Colette) makes his directorial and scriptwriting debut with To See a Sea (Pojedeme k mori), which screens under the title To the Sea in competition at the 27th Finale Plzen festival, running 27 April – 3 May 2014.

The Institute of Documentary Film introduces the projects which will participate in the 2014 edition of DOK.Incubator.

FNE at Finale Plzen: Colette

PLZEN: The first day of competition at the 27th Finale Plzen national festival of Czech and Slovak films offers up Milan Cieslar’s English-lingo Colette.

KRAKOW: Twenty films will compete in the documentary competition of the 54th Krakow Film Festival, which runs 25 May to 1 June 2014.

BEIJING: Eleven Works-in-progress from Center and Eastern Europe will be presented during the Beijing Film Market.

Romanian Public TV Finances Seven Films

BUCHAREST: The Romanian Television Society/Societatea Română de Televiziune (SRTv) will support the funding of seven feature films including the next features of Nae Caranfil, Florin Şerban and Igor Cobileanski.

NICOSIA: The 12th Cyprus Film Days International Film Festival held in Limassol and Nicosia 4-13 April ended with Cyprus-born film director Yiannis Economides winning the Best Film award for Stratos.

BUCHAREST: Romanian Film Promotion and Transilvania IFF have launched the national campaign Save the Big Screen/Salvaţi marele ecran consisting of documenting existing old cinemas, a documentary, seminars, a special screening during TIFF and a crowdfunding campaign.
