Speak Out Wins Georgian UN Competition

    TBILISI: Speak Out, a documentary produced by NGO Art Film Studio, received the prize of 39,365 EUR/95,000 GEL from the UN Women organisation and the Georgian National Film Centre.

    Nine projects applied and only two made it to the second and final round, representatives of GNFC told FNE: Speak out with 119 points and Preparations Tomorrow (producer Lira Production, director Lali Kiknavelidze ) with 101 points.

    The long documentary Speak Out will be directed by established filmmaker Zurab Inashvili. The competition Domestic Violence / Violence against Women was launched during a conference organised by UN Women and GNFC on 25 November 2013, marking the International Violence Against Women Day. The event was established within the framework of the UN program Support of Gender Equality in Georgia, financed by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
