By

BUDAPEST: Coming Out directed by Dénes Orosz and produced by Megafilm has emerged as the best Hungarian domestic film opening of 2013. The film is distributed in Hungary by Hungaricom.

The gay comedy released on 5 December brought in 30.5m HUF with 23,500 admissions, knocking Márk Bodzsár's Isteni műszak produced by Unió Film from the top place. The film had the best domestic premiere since the 2010 film Üvegtigris 3 directed by Péter Rudolf.

Isteni műszak was released in October and stayed in cinemas only four weeks, reaching 4,500 admissions its first week-end and 5,000 in total. The third best Hungarian release was The Notebook by János Szász and produced by Hunnia Filmstudió and Intuit Pictures, winner of the Karlovy Vary IFF Crystal Globe, with 2,300 admissions.

Coming Out starring Sándor Csányi, Kátya Tompos and Gábor Karalyos was released on 56 screens in Hungary, garnering mixed reviews from critics.
