The Trap picked up for US distribution

By

Film Bridge International has snapped up the US rights for the Serbian-Germany-Hungarian thriller The Trap by Srjdan Golubovic, Hungarian co-producer László Kántor (Dallas Pashamende) told FNE. The Trap was one of nine films short-listed for an Academy Award in the best foreign-language film category but was not one of the five nominees.

The parties celebrated the deal at a dinner during the Berlinale. No formal announcement has been made yet.

The details of the deal were not disclosed, but films similar to The Trap are normally picked up for between $400,000 and $1.5 million in the North American market.

Four Hollywood entities, including MGM, were bidding for the Bavaria title, which premiered at last year's Berlinale.
