Pay TV Subscriptions Rise in Hungary

BUDAPEST: Official data shows that pay TV subscribers reached 3.2 million in Hungary by the end of November 2011.

Digital TV subscriptions rose an estimated 1.5%, based on numbers at the leading providers (covering 88% of the market), adding 23,000, to reach 1.627 million. UPC (www.upc.hu ) has 26% of the market in Hungary.

Some 0.6 million Hungarian households still watch analogue or free satellite and cable TV.
