RIGA: The National Film Centre of Latvia has awarded 139,156 EUR to five projects in the debut film grants session for 2015.
The five winning projects include one feature fiction film, three documentaries and an animation project. All of the projects are in the first stage of production and need to be finalised by the end of 2016.
The largest amount (88,630 EUR) was given to the film Tas, ko viņi neredz, directed by Staņislavs Tokalovs and produced by Ego Media. It is a film about a scientist who is a genius and is obsessed with creating artificial intelligence. The results were announced on 16 June 2015.
