Latvia Announces International Film Coproduction Grants in 2015

By

RIGA: The National Film Centre of Latvia has announced its first grants for international coproductions, with 200,000 EUR going to eight projects.

The eight winning projects consist of four feature fiction films, three documentaries and one animated film. The Latvian party in all of the projects takes part as a minority coproducer and their participation constitutes not less than 10% of the film budget.

The films include coproductions with Lithuania, Estonia, Canada, Greece, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Ireland. Two of the documentary film projects will be shot in Latvia: one is about Latvian composer Imants Ramiņš and one is about Jews who unsuccessfully tried to escape the USSR in the 1970s.
