Latvian TV Advertising Increases

    Latvia had a 33% increase in TV advertisements in December 2010, compared with December 2009.

    The data was compiled by research company TNS Latvia.

    According to a report in The Baltic Course, most of the increase in advertising took place during daytime programming, 9 am to 6 pm, where advertising grew by 48%. Evening advertising in the 6 pm to midnight slot saw only a 1.3% rise.

    The increase was credited to a slow fall for advertising, with companies targeting holiday shoppers.
