Documentary The Ancient Woods by Mindaugas SurvilaVILNIUS: The box office of Lithuanian films reached almost 60% of last year’s total in the first half of 2018. Admissions were 500,000 compared to 860,000 in 2017.
National cinema has also increased its share in theatre programming to an unprecedented 28% of the market compared to 22% in 2017, according to the Lithuanian Film Centre.
Five Lithuanian titles were also among the top ten most viewed films in the first half of 2018, with three of them topping the list.
