Scanorama opens in Vilius

    The Nordic cinema festival Scanorama (www.scanorama.lt) opened November 13 in Vilnius, and continues November 20 in Klaunas and Klaipeda.
    Scanorama 2008 will present sixteen different programmes, will screen 125 films of various genres. The festival is a part of the preparatory evens for Vilnius-European Capital of Culture, (www.culturelive09.lt) which opens officially on New Year's eve.

    On the November 14 professional and non-professional filmmakers are invited to the co-production forum Young Film Generation. The film experts Soon-Mi Peten and Kerstin Olander will share their experience with young Lithuanian filmmakers. During this forum the Lithuanian philosopher Nerijus Milerus, the Greek director Thanos Anostopolous and the German director Florian Gaag will speak with audiences. Other guests include Icelandic director Guony Halldorsdottir and Swedish actress Lena Endre.
