MEDIA doc seminars at Vilnius festival

    The MEDIA Programme Division of the International Cultural Programme Centre is offering seminars and discussions for documentary filmmakers during the Vilnius Documentary Film Festival.
    The series is entitled Creative Documentary Today: How to create, finance and promote independent films. The initiative strives to stimulate the interest of young film creators in documentaries and offer solutions for working on a European level.

    On December 10, director Sergei Loznica (Russia) shares his creative experience with young directors in a workshops called The End of Documentary Film.

    During an open seminar on December 11, lecturer, screenplay consultant and producer Dorota M. Paciarelli (Poland/Germany) will discuss funding creative documentary projects.

    The December 12 session will discuss successful ways of promoting European documentaries, with Elisabeth Marschan (Finland), a member of the artistic Committee of the Helsinki festival DocPoint; Hana Rezkova (Czech Republic), programme coordinator at the Institute of Documentary Film; and Greta Akcijonaite (Lithuania), film distribution coordinator of the Skalvija Cinema Centre.
