VALLETTA: Malta Film Commission is targeting India and set its efforts on attracting Indian productions to Malta and Gozo in 2017.

According to a press release, having strengthened Malta’s visibility in the US, Canada, Europe, Russia and China with intensive advertising campaigns across various film markets, the Malta Film Commission is now aiming to secure new important but challenging markets such as India.

Recently a delegation from the Malta Film Commission attended a prominent Indian film market in Mumbai, an important platform reached by hundreds of potential film producers.

Minister Edward Zammit Lewis said that the initiatives of the Malta Film Commission are delivering tangible results. Malta could benefit hugely not only due to the Indian investment in the local film infrastructure but also through promoting the country's touristic destinations.
