That compares to eight production in 2008 and ten in 2007.

Foreign productions, which ranged from commercials to feature films, accounted for 6.5 million Euros spend in Malta in 2009. The trend looks likely to continue in 2010, with The Devil's Double currently in production on a nine-week shoot through the end of March. 

According to Luisa Bonello, Malta's film commissioner, in an interview with Times of Malta, the last year brought consistency to the services industry, with "more productions, more work, more activity for the local sector."
