New Horizons Pick up Cannes Films

    WARSAW: New Horizons Association (www.nowehoryzonty.pl) has picked up the Polish rights for Cannes titles Holy Motors by Leos Carax, Post Tenebras Lux by Carlos Reygadas and După dealuri (Beyond the Hills) by Cristian Mungiu (www.mobrafilms.ro).

    New Horizons Association, the organizer of the T-Mobile New Horizons IFF and American FF in Wrocław will present the Polish premieres of all three films at the 12th T-Mobile New Horizons IFF in Wrocław (19-29 July 2012) before releasing them in cinemas throughout Poland. Reygadas will be the subject of a retrospective at the festival.

    New Horizons also acquired Polish rights for the Berlinale Audience Award-winner Marina Abramović: The Artist Is Present. The documentary by Matthew Akers will be presented as special event of the festival.

    The distribution arm of the New Horizons was launched in 2009 and has distributed 22 films to date. It was recently awarded for "Best Distribution Campaign Of A Foreign Film In Poland" by the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl) for Wim Wenders' Pina which garnered an impressive 50,000 admissions in Poland.
