WARSAW: Polish private broadcaster Polsat will increase locally produced content with two new dramatic series scheduled to premiere in spring 2014.
Akson Studio recently finished shooting the pilot for the series Więcej do kochania (More to Love) about two obese women who are trying to lose weight and support each other in the process. The leading roles are played by Elżbieta Romanowska and Barbara Kałużna, with cast members Filip Bobek, Przemysław Sadowski and Natalia Klimas. The show is planned as a light drama with humorous elements, similar to the American sitcom Mike & Molly. Polsat has commissioned the first season of the series.
The second local production acquired by the station is To nie koniec świata (It's Not the End of the World), the story of a rich playboy who is suddenlay left without money and a place to live. He remembers an old property located in the country that he inherited a long time ago and plans to sell it. When he arrives at the house he discovers an illegal tenant -- a young runway bride, played by Karolina Gorczyca. After a rocky start, the pair fall in love. The producer is Aktiv Media which produced past Polsat hit Tylko miłość (Only Love). Filming will begin in July 2013 on location in the region of Lublin.
Both shows will premiere on Polsat in spring 2014.
