By

WARSAW: Polish private broadcaster TVN will be the new coproducer of shorts produced at the Munk Studio within the 30 Minutes programme.

TVN and the Polish Filmmakers Association (SFP) signed an agreement stating that the broadcaster will financially support 30 Minutes productions during the next three years. Budgetary details of the agreement will be released when the coproduction contract is signed. Anna Waśniewska-Gill, feature film producer at TVN, will join the Artistic Board of the 30 Minutes programme.

The programme was created by the Polish Filmmakers Association, Polish Film Institute, Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Wajda School in 2005 in order to enable young filmmakers to make 30-minutes debut features in a professional production environment, provided with artistic and production mentoring.

The programme is presently co-financed by the Polish Filmmakers Association and the Polish Film Institute and it is managed by SFP's Munk Studio. Ten 30-minutes features are made every year. The initial budget of each project is 130,000 PLN with a possibility of an increase if the film is a coproduction.
