The film has already been distributed in several countries including UK, Germany, Japan and Macedonia. New Europe Film Sales is handling the sales.

Papusza had its international premiere at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2013 and hit Polish cinemas on 15 November 2013, distributed by Next Film.

The film was produced by Lambros Ziotas through Argomedia sp. z o.o. in coproduction with Telewizja Polska S.A., Canal+ Polska and Studio Filmowe KADR. It was supported by the Polish Film Institute.
