FNE at Gdynia Film Festival: Daemon

    GDYNIA : Daemon, Marcin Wrona's adaptation of Piotr Rowiecki's play about a paranormal case will screen in the main competition at the 40th Gdynia Film Festival, 14-19 September 2015. Daemon will have its international premiere at Toronto FilmFestival  2015 and will open in Poland on 16 October 2015.

    The story is based on a motif of a ghost coming back from the afterworld to intervene in the affairsof the living. The topic has a long tradition in the Polish art,especially in  theatre. The film takes place in contemporary Polandand follows the life of a small town crook named Pyton.

    Magnet Man film Ltd. is producing in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, Chimney Poland, Krakowskie Biuro Festiwalowe, Israel's Transfax FilmProductions, IF Silesia Film, Lava Films and Wajda Studio. .

    The budget was 1.34 m EUR/ 5.7 m PLN with approximately 660,000 EUR/ 2.8 m PLN  fromthe Polish Film Institute.The filmwas shot in fall 2014 and stars Itay Tiran, Agnieszka Żulewska and Andrzej Grabowski.

    Marcin Wrona is considered one of the most interesting young Polish filmmakers. His debut feature My Flesh My Blood premiered at Rome IFF in 2009. The Christening directed and coproduced by Wrona in 2010, was presented at Toronto and San Sebastian IFF.

    In Poland Daemon will be distributed by Kino Świat.
