WARSAW: Kasia Adamik is developing a Polish/Swedish/German coproduction inspired by a Polish writer and convicted murderer.

This psychological thriller will be based on the novel Amok written by Krystian Bala, who was convicted for killing his wife's lover. Bala described a similar crime in his novel and this ultimately drew the police on his trace. The case was heavily covered by the Polish media, but Kasia Adamik said that her film "will not be Bala's biography".

The script was written by Richard Karpala, a young American screenwriter with Polish roots. The director informed the media that shooting will take place on location in Poland, Sweden and Germany from the end of 2015 to the beginning of 2016.

The Polish producer is K & K Selekt and the planned budget is 2.8 m EUR /12 m PLN. The names of the foreign coproducers are not known yet. The premiere is planned for the fall of 2017.
