Polish Coproduction to Open in France

    WARSAW: Anne Fontaine’s drama Agnus Dei, a French/Polish/Belgian coproduction starring Agata Kulesza and Agata Buzek, will open in France on 10 February 2016. The film is distributed by Mars Films.

    The story is set in 1946 when Matylda, a young doctor, is asked to come to a convent to aid a dying woman thus discovering a dark secret of the sisters. The cast includes Lou de Lâage, Vincent Macaigne, Joanna Kulig, Anna Próchniak and Katarzyna Dąbrowska.

    The film was produced in 2015 by Eric and Nicolas Altmayer through Mandarin Cinema in coproduction with Philippe Carcassone through Cine@, Eliza Oczkowska and Klaudia Śmieja through Aeroplan Film, Mars Films, France 2 Cinema and Scope Picture (Belgium). The project was supported by the Polish Film Institute and was produced with support from Film Commission Poland.

    Kino Świat will release the film in Polish cinemas on 11 March 2016. Film Distribution is handling the sales.
