Skolimowski’s 11 Minutes to Be Distributed in Japan

    WARSAW: Jerzy Skolimowski’s acclaimed drama 11 Minutes will be released by Copiapoa Film in Japanese cinemas on 20 August 2016.

    The film intertwines the stories of several inhabitants of a modern city. As they live out their own struggles, their faith will be joined when the last second of the 11 minutes passes. The cast includes Richard Dormer, Wojciech Mecwaldowski, Paulina Chapko, Andrzej Chyra, Dawid Ogrodnik, Agata Buzek, Piotr Głowacki and others.

    This Polish/Irish coproduction was shot on location in Poland and Ireland in 2014. It was produced by Skopia Film in coproduction with Element Pictures, HBO Poland, Orange, Telewizja Polska – Agencja Produkcji Telewizyjnej i Filmowej and Tumult Foundation. It received production financing from the Polish Film Institute, Eurimages, The Irish Film Board, the city of Bydgoszcz and Eileen Tasca. The budget was 2 m EUR / 8.7 m PLN.

    The film premiered in the Main Competition of the 72nd Venice IFF and won the Youth Jury Special Mention. It was Poland's Oscar entry in 2015. Kino Świat released it in Poland on 23 October 2015 and it has gathered 128,907 admissions so far.  HanwayFilms is managing the sales.
