FESTIVALS: Sons Of Denmark Wins Mastercard OFF CAMERA Grand Prix

    KRAKOW: Sons Of Denmark by Ulaa Salim won the Grand Prix Krakow Film Award at the 12th Mastercard OFF CAMERA International Festival of Independent Cinema, held in Krakow 26 April - 5 May 2019.

    The International Making Way Competition Jury headed by Alan Starski, including Anna B. Sheppard, Ellen Kuras and Roger Mitchell, awarded the Danish drama the Krakow Fim Award in the International Competition Making Way and a 100,000 USD cash prize. Dolce Fina Giornata by Jacek Borcuch won the Kulczyk Foundation Award and 300,000 PLN / 71,228 EUR, and Karolina Bruchnicka won the MasterCard Rising Star Award for Best Acting Debut for her work in the Coach's Daughter directed by Łukasz Grzegorzek and a 10,000 PLN / 2,374 EUR cash prize. The Polish comedy-drama Fun, Fun by Kinga Dębska won the Audience Award. The Best Actress Award went to Gabriela Muskała for her role in Fugue directed by Agnieszka Smoczyńska and Jacek Braciak won the Best Actor Award for his work in the Coach's Daughter.

    The FIPRESCI Jury Award went to a drama from the USA entitled Monsters and Men, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green. The Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce (KIPA) awarded the best production debuts of the year to Małgorzata Wabińska for the production of Diagnosis directed by Ewa Podgórska ex aequo with Jarosław Sawko for producing Another Day of Life directed by Raúl de la Fuente and Damian Neonow.
