Buyers interested in TV Puls

By Katarzyna Grynienko
Six potential buyers have expressed interest in TV Puls, following the News Corp pull-out one month ago.

Speaking to Wirtualne Media, TV Puls chairman Dariusz Dabski said, "It is possible that the transaction will be finalized at the beggining of 2009. Presently we have six companies interested. They are both Polish and local firms from the branch." He did not reveal the names of the investors, however TVN, Agora, Axel Springer, Bertelsmann and Polsat have all be mentioned as probably investors. TVN and Polsat, two of the largest commercial TV stations in Poland, have denied having any discussions with TV Puls.

It is thought that the station is in need of a new investor imminently. TV Puls cut 25 of its 156-member staff in November and cut budgets on some programs.
