PRODUCTION: Lech Majewski shoots in Silesia

    Film director and visual artist Lech Majewski is in production with Psie Pole (Dog Field). The film will be shot in the Silesia region through the end of November 2010. The 2.8 million PLN received 1 million PLN from the Polish Film Institute (www.pisf.pl).

    The film will support the efforts of the city's bid to be the European Capital in 2016. The cast includes actors and extras from the Silesia region. The producer of the picture is Stowarzyszenie Twórców i Mecenasów Kultury i Nauki Angelus Silesius.

    Psie Pole is created in the form of video-art para documentary. "These are intimate visions, things that are in my head that are taking place in Katowice. Why Katowice? I was born there, I live all over the world, but the visions that I have are usually connected with this place." Majewski said. The shoot started in October and took place in several locations in the Silesia region. Majewski is a theater director, writer and painter. His films include Angelus, The Garden Of Earthly Delights, The Roe's Room, Basquiat-Dance Of Death and Gospel According to Harry.
