WARSAW: Polish director Małgorzata Brama will start shooting the WWII docudrama Radosław at the end of April 2013.

Lieutenant Colonel Jan "Radosław" Mazurkiewicz, one of the leaders of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, heads a group of soliders named after his pseudonym. The title concentrates on the relationships between them in the face of dire circumstances. The leading role is played by Ireneusz Czop, and the cast includes Iwona Karlicka, Paulina Gałązka, Marta Ormaniec, Piotr Bondyra, Janusz Brodacki, Marek Joński, Kalina Hlimi-Pawlukiewicz, Borys Jaźnicki and Maria Magdalena Modzelewska.

The cinematographer is Tomasz Ziółkowski. The script was co-written by the director along with Borys Jaźnicki and Rafał Kapeliński.

The film was commisioned by the Union of the Warsaw Uprising Members and is produced by Fundacja Artystyczna Erina B. The Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression and the Ministry of National Defence are co-financing the project.

The premiere of Radosław is planned for the 27 August 2013, on the 117th anniversary of Lieutenant Colonel Mazurkiewicz’s birthday.
