AXN to Produce First Polish Series

WARSAW: AXN, the Sony Pictures Entertainment pay television, cable and satellite television channel, avaialble in Poland since 2010, will begin producing original Polish content.

More Bollywood Coming to Krakow

KRAKOW: Bollywood producer Ritesh Sidhwani is currently scouting locations in Krakow for a 40 day shoot of a major film. Poland's Alvernia Studios will co-ordinate the project.

BUCHAREST: After receiving a production grant of 142,553 EUR/636,500 RON from the National Centre for Cinema on 9 April 2014, Alexandru Solomon’s new documentary is set to start shooting this summer.

PLZEN: The feature film competition at the Finale Festival in Plzen, taking place 27 April – 3 May 2014, will include Ivan Vojnár’s hybrid film An Unlikely Romance, an intimate feature with documentary elements.

PLZEN: Karin Babinská, whose popular and internationally acclaimed road-movie Dolls, won the 20th Finále Plzen, returns to Plzen to compete with the romantic film Wings of Christmas (Kridla Vanoc).

FNE at Finale Plzen: Burning Bush

PLZEN: The most acclaimed Czech film of 2013, crowned with 11 Czech Lions and awarded as the Best film by Czech Critics, Burning Bush directed by Polish filmmaker Agniezska Holland takes another shot at a best film award in the competition of the Finale Plzen festival of Czech and Slovak films running 27 April – 3 May 2014.
