PRODUCTION: Blood of Blood Goes into Production for Canal+ Poland

ImageWARSAW: Shooting has begun on Blood of Blood, an action series produced by Endemol Poland for Canal +. The show is the second original Polish television production that Canal + commissioned in 2011.
Krew z krwi ( Blood of blood) is a story of Carmen, the widow of a mob leader who has to take over the "family business" after her husband's death to protect her children. The lead role is played by Agata Kulesza accompanied by a cast of popular Polish actors including  Iza Kuna, Małgorzata Buczkowska, Zbigniew Stryj, Andrzej Andrzejewski, Łukasz Simlat, Aleksander Domogarov, Szymon Bobrowski, Mariusz Bonaszewski and Maciej Musiał.

The series is a Polish adaptation a Dutch script written by Pieter Bart Korthius. The Polish screenwriters are Małgorzata Fąfrowicz-Szamocka and Karolina Szymczyk-Majchrzak. The creative producer of the show is Małgorzata Retei.

Endemol Poland (www.endemol.com) will produce eight episodes of the mini series. The shoot, which launched on 15 November 2011, and will last through January 2012 in Warsaw and Gdynia. The series is directed by Xawery Żuławski ( Snow White, Russian Red) and Robert Wichrowski ( Wspólna Street, Ugly Betty).

"We are consequently implementing out program policy. The current CANAL+ strategy includes a significant increase in local film production. Blood of Blood is the second television show made by us this year, following Mission:Afghanistan. A the same time we are intensifying our co-production activity," said Beata Mońka, the President of CANAL+ Cyfrowy (www.canalplus.pl).

The mini series is planned to premiere on Canal+ in the Spring of 2012.
