WARSAW: TVN Group will produce the Polish version of the American hit sitcom Rules of Engagement. The shoot in Warsaw will start in the beginning of December 2011.

TVN will independently produce a first season of 15 episodes to air on its terrestrial channel TVN 7. The series will be directed by Bartosz Ignaciuk, who also directed the Polish version of Cold Feet for TVN (www.tvn.pl). The station informed FNE that the casting process is currently being finalized.

The show is planned to premiere on TVN 7 in 2012. It will be the first original production prepared by TVN for this channel, which will available not only via cable but also through the second multiplex of the ground digital television currently implemented in Poland, which is available to 97% of households in the country.

Rules Of Engagement has aired on CBS (www.cbs.com) since 2007. The show follows the relationships between two couples and their mutual friend who is happy to stay single. CBS is currently airing the sixth season of the show. The American version was aired in Poland by Polsat (www.polsat.pl) and later by Comedy Central (www.comedycentral.pl) with good results.
